Week 3 - Working to my Statement of Intent
The audience for my image set is a friend (& fellow students) gaining an insight into part of my life. I intend for the audience to feel desire for appreciation of the coffee-making process. Similar to the themes you see in self-help books, presenting a product that induces calm and clarity that has inspired me.
Six food-product photographs from a genre specific perspective, depicting a clear narrative illustrating my own personal ritual of making a cup of coffee and the enjoyment it brings during the process from bean to cup, to sitting with book showing craft of the process, inviting others to appreciate the joy of making a coffee in your own home and opportunities that arise from it.
I will capture the images mid-morning from 35-degree angles and overhead perspectives in square format to present the process simply. The images will be staged, however offering a candid view (and authentic as I will be using the opportunity to make a coffee) to achieve a presentation of coffee in its processional forms. The aim is to capture the spirit of the craft of a coffee because I am enthusiastic about coffee and people enjoying the joys and mindful practice of my particular ritual.
